Paul stated: 'have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? It obviously wasn't enough, because Paul directed them to be re-baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus and they were filled with the Holy Ghost and spake with tongues in Acts 19. If it wasn't enough for them, how can it be enough for you and I today? God is no respector of persons, what he required of those born into the churh then is required today, is it not? I looked in the Bible and the same question you ask is the same question a jailer asked Paul and Silas when a violent earthquake broke open the doors and everybody's chains became loose. He asked, "What must I do to be saved?" They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved -- you and your household." (Acts 16:31) To believe is receiving the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the forgiveness of sins. Like placing a gift in our outstretched hands, we receive salvation from Christ who made it possible through his death and resurrection. The only appropriate response (or "Now what I do I do?"), is to say Thank you! By faith, we receive God's forgiveness and by faith, we trust this promise to be true. Thank you again, lanis.
